고려대 vs 연세대

고려대학교와 연세대학교는 한국 대학들 사이에서 가장 치열한 라이벌로 알려져 있다. 매년 두 학교는 고연전 (또는 연고전) 이라 불리는 열정적인 스포츠 경기를 개최하며, 이 명칭의 순서조차 양교 학생들에게는 자존심이 걸린 문제이다. 단순한 스포츠 경기로 시작된 이 행사는 이제 스포츠를 넘어선 두 학교의 상징적인 전통이 되었다.오늘날 고연전은 학교의 자부심과 정체성, 그리고 수십 년간 이어져 온 라이벌 의식을 대표한다. 학생들에게 이 행사에 참가하거나 관람하는것은 단순히 팀을 응원하는것을 넘어, 학교를 대표하는 것이나 대학 생활을 즐기는 특별한 방식 중 하나이다.

한국사의 일부

고려대학교를 상징하는 색은 진한 붉은색으로 열정, 용기, 희생정신을 의미한다. 이 강렬한 색은 고려대의 정체성과 정신을 시각적으로 표현하며, 교정 곳곳과 교복, 응원복에 이르기까지 널리 사용된다. 또한 마스코트는 호랑이로, 강인함과 지혜, 그리고 민족 정신을 상징합니다. 호랑이는 고대인의 자부심을 대변하며, 응원전이나 학교 행사에서 중심적 상징으로 자주 등장한다.

Original Of Korea University

Upon entering the Korea University Museum, visitors are invited to explore the legacy behind the university’s founding. Korea University traces its origins to Bosung College, a modern institution of higher learning established under the name bestowed by Emperor Gojong. Bosung College laid the foundation for Korea University, which was formally established one year after Korea’s independence from Japan.

The university’s advancement in medical research was notably marked by the establishment of the College of Medicine. This pivotal step led to significant breakthroughs, including the discovery of the Hantaan virus and the development of both diagnostic kits and a vaccine. Korea VS Yonsei

Korea and Yonsei are the biggest rivals among the universities. These two universities hosted school spirited sports competitions called Ko-Yon-Jeon, or Yon-Ko-Jeon, and this order of the name is quite regarded important to both universities’ students. This originally sports competition became far beyond athletics. It symbolizes pride, identity, and a decades-long rivalry between two of Korea’s most prestigious universities. For students, participating in or attending the event is more than just supporting a team, it’s about belonging to a legacy and one of the ways to enjoy the school.

Being A Part Of The Korea’s History

Korea University has long stood not only as an academic institution but as a powerful symbol of resistance in Korea’s modern history. During pivotal moments such as the April 19 Revolution in 1960 and the pro-democracy movements of the 1980s, Korea University students played an important role. Under authoritarian regimes, they took to the streets to defend not only academic freedom but also the fundamental rights of the Korean people.

The campus became a focal point for demonstrations, and "Minjokdae" came to symbolize more than just pride — it became a name synonymous with resistance and national identity. It embodied a profound sense of historical responsibility upheld by its students. This spirit continues to resonate in the university’s core philosophy, empowering students to carry on its legacy with pride and passion.

Korea University is symbolized by its signature deep crimson red, representing passion, courage, and spirit of sacrifice. This bold color visually embodies the university’s identity and is prominently featured across campus from uniforms and banners to cheering apparel. The university’s mascot is the tiger, a symbol of strength, wisdom, and national spirit. The tiger reflects the pride and determination of its students and often takes center stage at sports events and school festivals.
