3월 15일 글로벌 청소년 교육 이니셔티브인 베가플렛폼(VegaPlatform)과 한국ESG위원회가 국민대학교 테크노대학원 강당에서 ESG 교육 및 정책 발전을 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다. 이번 협력을 통해 양 기관은 ESG에 대한 글로벌 인식을 확대하고, 정책적 영향력을 강화하며, 차세대 ESG 리더를 양성하는 데 집중할 예정이다.
체결된 MOU에 따라 베가플랫폼은 한국 ESG 위원회와 협력하여 ESG 교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 국제 포럼에서 ESG 관련 정책 논의를 주도하며, 주요 국제기구에서의 활동을 확대하는 것을 목표로 한다. 특히 베가플랫폼이 운영하는 모의 유엔(Model United Nations, MUN) 회의, 뉴스레터, 미디어 채널을 활용해 ESG에 대한 글로벌 인식을 높이고, 청년층을 대상으로 ESG 교육을 강화할 계획이다.

Seoul, South Korea – March 15, 2025 – VegaPlatform and the Korea ESG Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to boost Environmental, Social, and Governance training, policy influence, and global reach. With the alliance, the two organizations are keen to join hands to enable sustainable practices and develop the future of ESG leaders around the globe.
1) A Collaborative Vision for ESG Growth
Under the MOU, VegaPlatform, a youth global educational initiative, would partner with the Korea ESG Committee, one of the leading consultancy and accrediting bodies in the ESG field. Both of them would work towards increasing global awareness of ESG concepts, influencing global policy discourse at major international forums as well as provide youth-centered educational programs.
2) Key Areas of Cooperation
The MOU covers numerous fields of strategic collaboration such as:
1. ESG Global Awareness Expansion – VegaPlatform would utilize its Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, newsletters, and media channels for global promotion of Korea ESG Committee mission and work.
2. Youth-Focused ESG Education – Together, the collaboration will develop tailored ESG training schemes that equip youth leaders with the skillset and competences to promote sustainable agendas.
3. Conferences and Workshops Organizing – VegaPlatform and Korea ESG Committee shall host ESG-based conferences, forums, and summits with major stakeholders and international youth leaders.
4. The UN Policy Access and Representation – Korea ESG Committee will provide VegaPlatform with official delegation status in UN meetings with members actively engaging in core global ESG forums.
5. Accreditation and UN Participation – Vegaplatform will enable the Korea ESG Committee to obtain UN-accredited certifications that grant them access to ECOSOC consultative status, UNFCCC observer status, and other leading UN platforms.
6. Innovative Policy Design – Collaboration shall encourage youth involvement in ESG policymaking with innovative and sustainable solutions integrated within global systems of governance.
3) A Step Toward Global ESG Leadership
Speaking on the partnership, YoonJong Oh, CEO of VegaPlatform, emphasized the transformative impact of this collaboration: "This MOU represents a major step forward in advancing global ESG education and policy.
